While implementing the project, we aimed to create a space that fosters dialogue between young people and local authorities while counteracting the growing trends of Euroscepticism in our community. The main goal was to increase civic engagement among 50 young people aged 13-22 from Gorlice County by enabling them to acquire knowledge and practical experience regarding the functioning of local governments and their role in civil society. To achieve this goal, the project included the creation of a platform for dialogue between young people and representatives of at least three local governments; increasing participants’ awareness of European values and communities; developing critical thinking skills to enhance resilience against misinformation and propaganda; engaging young people from smaller towns who have limited access to civic activities; and promoting European values within the local community. The implementation of these objectives was based on non-formal education methods, with participants receiving substantive support from experts within our organization. Through various activities, such as workshops, study visits, and local initiatives, young people not only gained knowledge but also had the opportunity to apply it in practice by collaborating with local authorities and promoting European ideals in their surroundings.
