In order to meet young people's interests and initiative, we based the project to a large extent on practical activities and non-formal learning methods, which, according to the young people, provide unusual opportunities to combine knowledge of the past, respect for past people and their lives, culture, values that are no longer valid, tolerance, openness to otherness (religious or philosophical) - in a word, the acquisition of European values. otherness (religious or philosophical) - in a word, the acquisition of European values and, at the same time, the enhancement of individual involvement by creating a sense of empowerment and participation in the democratic life of the state. The idea behind the project was to use history as a "teacher of life" in the words of Cicero. Through a rally combined with meetings with local dissidents and witnesses, local activists, in places in the Lublin region where ordinary, grey, anonymous, often excluded people joined or were involved in the course of important historical events, we wanted to make participants aware of the importance of each individual in the life of society. The second equally important assumption, realised in the form of workshops, was to support the participants in the skilful use of the media, to counteract disinformation by teaching them, giving them tools for critical evaluation as a kind of "sieve" thanks to which they will be able to function better in contemporary reality. Young people with fewer opportunities who are grouped in our organisation are particularly vulnerable to propaganda, false information and disinformation, and the project will increase their resilience and media literacy. These young people also had low awareness of common European values and low involvement, participation in civil society.
