According to UN data, it is estimated that there are 14 million refugees in the world due to human or natural disasters. Portugal is a country that receives immigration as it is a transitional geography. People who migrate to Portugal live in settlements or camps under the identity of asylum seekers or refugees. Most of the asylum seekers are exposed to multiple traumas before, during and after migration, which adversely affect their mental health. It has been stated that most of the asylum seekers have mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, psychosomatic symptoms, sleep disorder, attention deficit, suicide, agoraphobia and post-traumatic stress disorder. It is important to evaluate and treat asylum seekers/refugees. Patient-doctor communication and intercultural understanding are required. The importance of social support should not be overlooked and social support should be provided with various resources. In the studies conducted with the refugees from the Middle East who came to Portugal in the last 20 years, it has been determined that 99% of the refugees have problems in adapting to Portugal and establishing social relations: Missing their old friendship relations most (69.9%), missing their home and neighborhood ( 66.9%, having difficulty in adapting (64.3%) because the financial situation in their country is good but deteriorating here (63.9%), not thinking that they can have a good life in the future (63.1%), feeling powerless in resolving (61.9%), having difficulty in establishing new relationships with people (58.5%), talking only about asylum with their family (59.7%), fearing that their asylum request will not be accepted (58.1%), Missing his country and his situation there (57.9%), experiencing cultural differences (57.3%), feeling lonely (56.9%), not enjoying anything he does (56.3%), and having difficulty understanding people because he does not know Portuguese (55.3%) and therefore difficulty in expressing oneself (57.5%) is indicated. In case of war, refugees' loss of family, culture, economic status, social roles and support system, as well as the dangerous situations they experience until they reach the country they go to, financial difficulties, adaptation problems in adapting to new environment are striking. They have been forced to leave their country, family, loved ones and culture behind in order to settle in a new country. Unemployment, inadequate food, health services, cultural adaptation problems, language problems, the collapse of hopes for life during their escape from their country, loneliness and economic problems can be given as examples of the problems that refugees face. In addition to the losses and psychological problems they have experienced, they often do not have work permits or any financial support. This situation can be explained by the fact that refugees cling to the countries they migrated to with a hope, try to overcome all their previous troubles by feeding this hope, finally get disappointed. For example, an incident related to racism, the rejection of asylum applications, negative news from their homeland, inadequate shelter conditions, difficulty in finding a place to stay, language problems, cultural adaptation difficulties, social isolation or lack of social support in the country of refuge are effective in this situation. For this reason, our project aims to ensure that the psychology of refugees is not deteriorated in such situations, that they can adapt to society more easily, and that refugees who leave their country out of necessity do not feel like strangers in the country they come from. The general aim of the project is to understand the psychology of refugee immigrants as a result of the difficulties they experience and to contribute to their social adaptability in order to reintegrate them into society as a result of the negative event they have experienced. In order to realize this aim, the institutional experiences of the partner organizations will be benefited, the existing practices will be brought together and the number of innovative methods and methods that can be used by youth workers will be increased. In order to contribute to our general goal, our specific goals and achievements are as follows; 1. To produce ideas that can psychologically prepare refugees who have to live in different country for this situation, resolve their social anxieties. 2. Identifying the problems caused by cultural differences and language differences that affect the adaptation of refugees to the environment they live in and demonstrating institutional studies to solve these problems to youth workers 3. Determining the actions to be taken to prevent refugees from falling behind the society by making them show themselves in their business life, making their way to their jobs, making their own gains, feeling good psychologically, and socially 4. To raise awareness of young people about activities that increase the participation of refugees in social life
