The reason why we intended to carry out this project was combined with the themes: Differences (human, social, cultural, environmental, etc.) and Cinema. The general objective of this project was to promote equality among peers, create discussion and debate about gender equality, human rights, bullying in adolescence, dating violence, the environment, climate change and healthy lifestyles, among others, realizing and identifying the main differences, difficulties and obstacles that each individual felt and experienced in their country, and how these young people could begin to act within their communities to change negative situations. Mixed groups were created where participants could identify the different issues in their respective countries and what realities they faced, and how they could raise awareness, highlight and promote good citizenship through cinema, by developing a small film project. Multicultural experiences were encouraged with environmental, social, cultural concerns (cultural heritage), combating cinematic literacy and citizenship among young people from the European community. By using an environmental awareness space (Aveiro lagoon area) through cinematographic techniques, it made it possible to combat the need we identified for the promotion of good environmental practices, allowing us to create an intention to promote positive impacts on nature at a local level and also within territories. from our partners. Thus, the specific objectives were: - Use cinema as a means of communication; - Production of films that focused on the aforementioned themes of human rights and the environment; - Discussion on the themes and perception of the realities of each country/group/individual involved; - Bring to debate and discussion topics that are important to discuss today, presenting possible solutions and/or reporting and giving voice to problems so they can be resolved. - The promotion of healthy lifestyles, through outdoor sporting activities; - Increasing young people's awareness of other European realities and what can be done to improve the quality of life, not only in the various societies where human beings are included, but also in the natural habitats of all living beings; - Increased knowledge about European citizenship, through the multicultural experience that young people have had; - That young people could improve their technical skills and have new perspectives and points of view when faced with realities other than their own; - Allow the integration of young people with fewer opportunities; - Allow young people to acquire tools for their integration into job markets, society, among others, particularly through the European skills validation certificate. - Give young people a voice and give them opportunities to develop their critical spirit, as it has been found that many hesitate or have difficulty in intervening and actively participating in their communities or in the political and social life of the European Union. According to the feedback we obtained throughout the activities, this project was very interesting, especially from the point of view of young people in disadvantaged situations. As mentioned in the participants' profile, the inclusion of Participants with Fewer Opportunities was one of the priorities in the selection of the individuals involved, since they are more exposed to witnessing situations of social exclusion. In this sense, young people with economic difficulties, geographical or social obstacles and cultural differences were privileged in comparison to what they would find in the municipality of Estarreja and the Region of Aveiro. We consider that this project, in addition to the direct impact on those who participated in the activities, provided an intervention that, through the tangible results produced and the intangible benefits realized, constituted an important tool for raising awareness, promoting knowledge and good practices to continually work with young people on the themes mentioned above. We will promote equal opportunities for everyone, without discrimination based on gender, age, cultural origin, sexual orientation, economic situation, etc. Gender balance will be promoted in the selection of participants and we intend to reach diverse working groups (staff and young people), which will mean that they will have a very relevant future role in political, educational, social, and youth agendas at local level, regional, national and European to combat gender and other inequality.
