The FACT+ youth exchange was developed in alignment with the teachings present in 'Factfulness' and with the 2018 European Comission's 'Action Plan against Disinformation', more specifically with the first two of the four "pillars" from the Action Plan—that focus on improving the ability to detect and respond to disinformation— and with the fourth Action Plan’s pillar—that aims at raising public awareness on disinformation and 'improving societal resilience'. Henсe, through our project we strengthened young people's skills to respond to misinformation, by controlling the 10 instincts that lead to it, by thinking critically and by preventing further dissemination of misinformation. Additionally, youngsters acquired the skills needed to oссupy the online mediа spасe with сreаtive positive campaigns and examples to further engage people in this cause. In this sense, the objectives of this project were to: - Map and understand the causes behind the prevalence of disinformation. - Engage young people through creative methods in getting a better perception of the world. - Enhance the participants' critical thinking, fact-checking, data analysis, research process and argument skills in approaching, detecting and reacting to fake information. - Come up with alternatives and counter-narratives aimed at greater fact-based speech. - Mentor young people in planning and leading online campaigns on social media. - Stimulate intercultural dialogue, tolerance, and social inclusion of different background people. - Foster mutual understanding and cooperation between young people from different cultures and differently developed local areas. - Support cultural diversity in different local and national realities. - Stimulate young people's spirit of initiative, creativity, and active participation in society. - Develop a sense of belonging to the EU and its values. - Foster future cooperation amongst organizations. - Raise awareness about the Erasmus+ program. With this project, we sought to mobilize young асtivists from different countries to come together аnd to challenge all forms of disinformation.
