Objectives

We created StartUp Hub to show young people they can make a difference by turning their ideas into businesses, using their energy to solve society's problems while creating opportunities for work, products or services. As we believe that everyone's opinion and ideas are important, we aimed to create an open and safe space where everyone could share their ideas and opinions on the topic, allowing participants to create connections with other young people interested in entrepreneurship. During the project, we also wanted to promote to everyone the opportunities that are available to these young people by being European citizens. The participants learned all the concepts through non-formal education, making them experience the knowledge and use it while learning. Having the goal of educating 28 young people from 4 countries with high indexes of youth unemployment about the concept of social entrepreneurship, through the sharing of concepts, and tools in leadership, management, communication and marketing aiding them in developing the necessary skills to achieve both their personal and business goals. Pre-mobility, we wanted participants to participated in at least one home preparation activities hosted by our partners and one online preparation session with the whole group organized by us. The week of the YE was composed of 8 days of workshops with 6 hours of activities each. Our activities were planned in 3 parts. These 3 parts go hand-in-hand with the toolkit prepared to teach them how to be active citizens. This toolkit is composed of 3 Rules: 1. Inform Yourself – Empower Yourself through Knowledge; 2. Dialogue with Others - Find Common Interests, and 3. Act on what You Believe – Take Action. This is an easy and practical way to teach participants how they can be engaged in society through personal and professional means, contributing to the development of their local communities and themselves, which can serve them as a life-long tool. The Social Entrepreneurship Zoom Sessions and School Visits: Participants create presentations and facilitated their own non-formal education sessions after the mobility at their local schools/universities or in an online session under their sending organization's social media. Participants Testimonials: 4 participants write or record a personal testimonial. Here, our participants express their personal feelings and thoughts about the learning experience lived during the mobility week to share their experience with others in posts made by partner organizations. Start-Up Hub - A Coocon for Social Entrepreneurs Video: We wanted to involve all the participants in creating a 1-minute video of the project showing activities, relaxed moments and the spirit of the project. Showcasing project activities and introducing Erasmus+ to other young people. Reels: Each national team would create their own video reel showing the transformative learning experiences that each team had during the project. Start-Up Hub Social Enterprises and Video Pitches: During the mobility, we planned for 7 groups of participants to develop 7 business ideas, 7 business plans, 7 presentations, 7 logos and 7 videos/commercials. These business ideas and contents are the result of all the learnings they acquired in the project and a proof they are capable of developing ideas giving them confidence and being shared with their peers. As such, the main objectives of this project were: To educate 28 young people from 4 countries with high youth unemployment about the concept of social entrepreneurship; To share tools in leadership, management, communication and marketing with 28 youngsters and aid them in developing the necessary skills to achieve both their personal and business goals; To promote and introduce European opportunities for youth and new entrepreneurs, connecting the EU to young people by showing them opportunities they can take advantage of; To teach how to make a business plan and a sales pitch, important tools for entrepreneurs to focus on specific steps and make their business successful, through different non-formal educational activities; To educate young minds on how to be more active in their communities through non-formal education, giving them new options for jobs/careers; To promote youth organisations and other European programmes like Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs and ESC that young people can apply to and obtain skills for professional and personal development; Connect young people from different backgrounds and countries to listen to and appreciate each others' ideas and experience, endorsing intercultural understanding, democracy, respect, diversity, human rights, active citizenship, and EU citizenship; Enable young people to be architects of their own lives, support their personal development and growth to autonomy, build their resilience and equip them with life skills to cope with a changing world.
