“What´s next: Enlightening my future” was created by and for youth workers to work on some specific objectives. The project had a double approach of helping participants in gaining personal skills and tools at the same time as giving them practical tools to use in their daily work with their respective target groups. That being said, some of the objectives this project aimed to achieve were: - Helping them to gain empathy on the problems young people face when stuck on the decision of choosing their next steps educationally or professionally. - Enabling them to better understand their needs and possible ways of working on it by sharing experiences with other professionals. - Enabling youth workers to help young people manage the feeling of being lost, without purpose or motivations in life. - Using self-knowledge as the key for knowing and starting to build their paths, looking inside, recognizing their intelligences, interest, passions and strengths as their main asset to bring value to society. Which in turn, help them to develop mentoring skills on guiding and go along with them during the process. - Tools for a better decision-making process, based on specific techniques as well as on self-awareness that will lead them to make conscious decisions. - Empowering them to build their own life, the one aligned with their values and needs. With that, we intend to promote a proactive attitude and help both participants and young people to take their life in their own hands, living a life with purpose and sense while respecting themselves. Living as the main character of their story, instead of being just an observer. - Gain emotional intelligence competences in order to live better with themselves and with their communities. - Building self-compassion and self-love to become better professionals and people, more aware of their own potential. - Learning and sharing ways to improve their own self-care. - Gaining specific tools to organize better their time and prioritize tasks. - Taking into consideration the importance of having an action plan to make things real, while learning specific methods. - Practising networking to amplify their network. - Improving some competences such as creativity, adaptability and dealing with failure. - Helping to build an international network of professionals and young people. - Sharing and getting insights from other cultures and mindsets. - Getting inspiration from other professionals, paths and options. - Learning specific methods of non-formal education to apply within their sessions. - Promoting mobility and European values. We empowered youth workers and young people to appreciate their natural talents and to build a life with purpose, respecting themselves and valuing what they have to offer. We assisted them to enlighten their future!
