Objectives

Our primary goal in implementing the CO.RE experience was to empower European youth workers and provide them with the skills and practical tools needed to promote COoperative and REgenerative practices within their youth-focused initiatives in their respective communities. Through this program, we aimed to enhance the capacity of youth workers, European NGOs, and local community members to transition from a competitive to a cooperative mindset, from degenerative to regenerative approaches, and from monocultural to biodiverse strategies. Our overarching objective was to foster a more COoperative, COmmunitarian, and COnscious way of life, as well as encourage the development of a more REgenerative, REsilient, and REconnected society and world. The CO.RE experience was designed to offer an immersive learning journey for 24 youth workers representing 6 different countries. Grounded in experiential learning and non-formal education, our program sought to create a supportive network of youth workers and organizations prepared to address the societal and environmental challenges of our time, thereby promoting a healthy eco-social transition. We considered it vital to equip youth workers with the skills necessary to guide young adults through transitions. To achieve this, we provided tools and knowledge to: - Help individuals discover their personal purpose and inspire active participation through the concept of IKIGAI. - Foster positive conflict resolution through the practice of Nonviolent Communication. - Facilitate horizontal decision-making and decentralized governance using Sociocracy. - Cultivate a deep connection with nature through The Work that Reconnects. - Enhance the development of local communities through an evolving learning curriculum. The objectives of the Co.Re Experience were as follows: * To provide non-formal learning opportunities for the educational and professional development of youth workers, thereby contributing to the enhancement of individual practices and the evolution of youth work organizations and systems. * To establish a common language and toolkit among participants, focusing on the methodologies of IKIGAI, Nonviolent Communication, Sociocracy 3.0, and The Work that Reconnects. * To build a network of organizations committed to eco-social transition within their local communities, actively engaging and empowering youth in participation and decision-making processes, while emphasizing horizontal power structures and positive conflict resolution. * To develop a learning curriculum that fosters COoperative and REgenerative practices among participants and organizations, with a specific focus on enhancing the capacity of youth workers to guide young adults through transitions. To achieve these objectives, our approach involved guiding participants through various layers of engagement with innovative tools and methodologies, including: · Fostering individual agency for change through self-reflection methodologies such as IKIGAI. · Enhancing peer-to-peer relationships and conflict transformation through Nonviolent Communication. · Encouraging positive group and community dynamics through the use of Sociocracy. ·Promoting a harmonious relationship with the world and nature through The Work that Reconnects.
