Objectives

By addressing the aforementioned challenges, we had a number of objectives that aimed to empower youths to participate actively in shaping their communities and benefiting from the opportunities offered by Erasmus+. Through these efforts, we hoped to foster a sense of belonging and responsibility among young people towards the European project. The project aimed to establish transnational cooperation to innovate youth work and promote European values, fostering active citizenship in Erasmus+ mobility programs. The digital storytelling app featuring interviews and testimonies of EU program participants, aimed to engage youth in digital youth work and promote European values, unity, and diversity. The project included a youth exchange activity to enhance digital skills. Partners involved young people to understand their opinions on the EU and Erasmus+, assess reasons for non-participation, and discuss potential remedies. Additionally, short video testimonies were gathered to motivate youth to participate in Erasmus+ projects. All the project activities ensured the project served the needs of target groups and educational objectives.

Background

We aimed to enhance youth involvement in active citizenship and Erasmus+ programs, crucial as interest waned, particularly among rural and economically disadvantaged youths, exacerbated by COVID-19. Recognizing the significance of understanding EU values and mobility opportunities for the Union's future, our project emphasized raising awareness of EU values, unity, diversity, and historical heritage. The pandemic highlighted the urgent need for a coordinated EU effort to bolster education and adapt to the digital transition effectively.
