We wanted to empower young people by developing essential skills and historical awareness. Through the activities developed, participants developed both critical thinking and empathy, learned to make connections between historical events and current social challenges and these are the key tools to promote common values, democracy and the importance of living and defending human rights. The exhibitions created by the young participants generated social impact that spread both through digital platforms and community work, promoting inclusion and multicultural understanding.
WHY? We believe that in view of the SOCIAL PROBLEM identified and yet to be resolved - the growing radicalization of young people and the European population and the devaluation of common values and human rights - it is crucial not to let hate speech and radical behavior proliferate, which attacks the values of democracy and human rights. OBJECTIVES For this reason, we identified the general objective as contributing to the maintenance of democratic, inclusive, non-discriminatory and non-radicalized societies. The 3 organizations also set out with the common goal of intervening with young people, fostering their critical, reflective, informed active reflection in society and promoting their active European citizenship. NEEDS The needs to be addressed in this project include: - Training youth workers to foster the development of young people's skills (including critical thinking, empathy, Non-Violent Communication) and to alert them to the dangers of growing radicalization; - Empower young people to be critical and informed about the current state of society; - Sensitize society to the dangers of growing hate speech, intolerance, and prejudice.
