The project aimed to educate young people to promote and actively participate in volunteering activities with children/youth with mental and intellectual disabilities. It helped young people understand the importance of volunteering, prepared them for careers in working with special needs children, and built their confidence and independence. By interacting with these children, volunteers improved their communication skills and contributed to their mental well-being. The initiative also addressed the lack of training for educators in handling children with special needs and promoted awareness about bullying and discrimination. Ultimately, the project sought to create a strong network of volunteers and specialists dedicated to helping disadvantaged children. To achieve this, the objectives were: 1. improving the communication skills of 60 young people between 15 and 30 years old, from Dâmbovița and Cluj, with people with mental and intellectual disabilities and their families; 2. informing and training at least 60 young people between 15 and 30 years old, from Dâmbovița and Cluj, to have information and basic skills about volunteer work, advocacy, the rights of children/youth with disabilities and good practices in interaction with people with disabilities; 3. developing civic skills by promoting volunteering among 40 young people between 15 and 30 years old, from Dâmbovița and Cluj, in interaction with children/youth with neuro-divergent disabilities
