To create a comprehensive study mapping environmental literacy skills of youth in the 3 communities To increase the environmental literacy skills of 24 youth workers (8 per partner country) during a 4 day training course To stimulate a positive attitude and raise awareness among the 180 people (60 per country) towards sustainable development and environmental protection To increase the capacity of developing local events on environmental literacy for 3 the participating organisations
We identified a lack of action and tools for advocacy and sustainable practices among our target groups, despite awareness of climate change and environmental degradation among European youth. Our project targeted this gap by enhancing environmental literacy and sustainable skills, focusing on Romania, Greece, and Bulgaria, where formal education on these topics was insufficient. We brought together three organizations—Impressum, PAC OLYMPIADA, and LOESJE—to provide new opportunities for EU-level cooperation. The project aligned with Impressum Association’s goal of protecting the environment and empowering youth for active citizenship, emphasizing environmental activism by providing skills and motivation. Building on its prior environmental projects, Impressum aimed to enhance its expertise and organizational capacity as a coordinator. For LOESJE, the project supported their mission to develop youth skills and promote community change, enriching non-formal learning methods and gaining operational experience. This boosted LOESJE's ability to initiate impactful Erasmus+ projects. PAC OLYMPIADA, a sports club, needed to develop and learn environmental literacy methods for its outdoor activities.
