Objectives

The objectives of our project were: to raise young people's awareness of hate speech and fake news in the media across European countries; to learn to identify hate speech and fake news in the media and to warn of its consequences; to work actively to neutralise the negative effects of hate speech and fake news; to highlight the importance of media and digitalisation. Improve media and digital literacy and critical judgement of media content, promote acceptance of difference and solidarity, promote tolerance towards migrants, ethnic groups, other nationalities, gender, sexual orientation, race and other groups, and raise young people's awareness of common European values and fundamental rights. The indirect objectives of the project were: to learn about the cultures of the participating countries, to involve and encourage young people with fewer opportunities, to network and strengthen the work of the organisations, to promote the importance of exchanges and to spread the message of the programme through events, to encourage a tolerant intercultural dialogue between all participating countries, to develop competences in the use of a foreign language (English), to promote non-formal learning among young people in Europe, and to encourage the creativity and improve the knowledge of young people in the field of multi-media content. Through the project, we raised young people's awareness of hate speech and fake news in the media across European countries. We taught them to recognise hate speech and fake news and warned them of its consequences. We worked actively to neutralise the negative effects of hate speech and fake news. We highlighted the importance of media and digitalisation and improved media and digital literacy and critical judgement of media content. We promoted acceptance of difference and solidarity and tolerance towards migrants, ethnic groups, other nationalities, gender, sexual orientation, race and other groups. We also raised young people's awareness of common European values and fundamental rights. The project's indirect objectives were to learn about the cultures of the participating countries, to involve and empower young people with fewer opportunities, and to network and strengthen the work of organisations. We spread the message of the programme by promoting the importance of exchanges and organising events. We promoted tolerant intercultural dialogue between all participating countries, developed competences in the use of a foreign language (English) and encouraged non-formal learning among young people in Europe. We also stimulated creativity and improved young people's multimedia skills.
