The main goal of the project was to enable young people to have an intercultural meeting, through which they will get a valuable practical experience of the idea of European identity - how it lives today in a multicultural environment. The goal is also to give young people a valuable experience of European and world historical heritage; to enable young people to get to know the concept of borders and boundaries through experiential learning of different dimensions - physical space, linguistic dimension and the importance of historical and collective memory. The project involved young people who live in the surrounding area with connecting historical aspects (Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany), but with different socialization, educational and economic backgrounds. The aim of the project was to include deaf and hard-of-hearing young people and thereby stimulate thinking about different borders and about inclusion, tolerance and active citizenship. We wanted to give young people the tools and knowledge to help them deal with problems in their multinational environments, without leaving their local, regional and national affiliations and identities. With this, we wanted to encourage them to become active in their exercise of active citizenship and in their involvement in democratic life processes; encourage the development of intercultural dialogue, solidarity, development of common values, equal opportunities and respect for human rights.
