The project partners and our young members decided to develop this project based on the observation that in recent years more and more young people have various mental problems. This is also confirmed by the OECD contribution from 2021, where they state that the number of young people with mental disorders has grown significantly in recent years, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only worsened the situation. That is why it is so important that young people, as well as organizations that work with young people, are well informed about this issue. We believe that this project was very useful for all project participants, as the young participants learned how to recognize mental problems and manage their mental and emotional state. Also, this project was useful for the project partners, as we will be able to use this knowledge in our local environments. In the framework of this project, young participants, together with youth leaders, developed their skills to identify the causes of emotional and mental problems, learned to express their feelings and found a source of calmness through mindful drawing and painting. During this project, the young participants also developed and strengthened their key competences and acquired new knowledge, skills and abilities. We also introduced the young people to the importance of planning and identifying learning effects and recording acquired competencies. Our project was most closely related to the 5th European Youth Goal - mental health and well-being of young people. This goal states, among other things, that we should achieve better mental health and de-stigmatize mental health problems, thus promoting the social inclusion of all young people. As part of our project, we focused on preventive measures that provide young people with the knowledge and skills needed for better mental health. With this, we enabled young people to take their lives into their own hands.
