The "Green Social Entrepreneurship" Youth Exchange was a carefully planned initiative that aimed to bring together 50 diverse young individuals from nine different countries, including Lithuania, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Serbia, Cyprus, Greece and Slovenia. This enriching eight-day experience, which took place in Ljubljana in May 2023, was designed to go beyond traditional learning. Our approach was rooted in non-formal education, led by experienced youth leaders who championed a "learning to learn" methodology. Participants took part in a range of activities, from workshops, presentations and site visits to lectures, cultural events and interactive sessions. This dynamic mix of activities ensured that the learning process was not only informative but also engaging and transformative. A key objective of this project was to immerse young people in European values and to foster a sense of unity and intercultural understanding between different backgrounds. We sought to create a space where differences are celebrated and shared values are strengthened, embodying the true spirit of European community. The central objective of our mission was to empower and raise awareness about green social entrepreneurship among the participants. We wanted to show that it is possible to strike a balance between economic prosperity and social responsibility. By showcasing successful green businesses in Ljubljana, we provided practical insights into how businesses can operate sustainably while engaging vulnerable target groups. Tackling the pressing issue of youth unemployment was another key aspect of our project. We introduced participants to the concept of green jobs and provided them with the tools and knowledge to navigate the challenges and opportunities in this sector. This was particularly important for participants from countries facing high levels of youth unemployment and emigration. The project also extended its impact to the local community, involving them in various sporting and cultural events. This involvement not only enriched the participants' experience but also fostered a sense of belonging and community involvement. Finally, we have worked to bring the Erasmus+ programme closer to the participants and to ensure that they left with a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities it offers. We hope to sow the seeds for further participation in the programme and to encourage learning and development.
