With this project we wanted to bring together two related scouting organisations that are developing their own national diversity & inclusion (henceforth called D&I) strategy and prepare a good basis for further development within each organisation. First and foremost we wanted to train our volunteers to work with people with fewer opportunities and empower scouts for this kind of work through practical experience. We also wanted to expand the team of volunteers who will contribute to the D&I field at a national level in both participating organisations. Through collaboration with external Slovenian organisations and through international experience, we created a high quality and a unique training. We have equipped both participating organisations with a wide range of ideas and strategies to address current challenges - both at an individual and systemic level. One of the objectives of our project was to provide a 6-day training for 30 scout volunteers, which will serve as a basis for further trainings in D&I field. More specifically, our objectives in the content area were to provide participants with the skills to work with individuals with fewer opportunities and to ensure that participants are familiar with different groups of people with fewer opportunities. When planning the project, we also thought more broadly, as we wanted it to have a positive impact on the development of the D&I field in both participating organisations. We wanted to achieve that the participants prepare their own personal projects, in relation to which we set two objectives of the project. The first was for our participants to plan a workshop on diversity & inclusion topics or an activity involving individuals with fewer opportunities. The second was to implement and present personal projects at the follow-up weekend. The organisers set themselves the goal of producing an e-material containing the main training content and guidelines for inclusive action for scout activities. The international dimension of the project also allowed us to set the goal of sharing good practices in the field of D&I between the participating organisations.
