We wanted to achieve several key goals with this project. The first goal was to strengthen the skills of youth workers in the field of cultural mediation, mentoring skills, recruitment, training and coordination of new volunteers. Another goal was to accelerate the social inclusion of recently immigrated migrants by training and supporting youth workers who were engaged as mentors. The third objective was to expand and improve existing mentoring practices in the field of youth work with migrants in Europe. The fourth and final aim was to develop a document on shared best practices for migrant youth work that could be used by partner organizations and other stakeholders. In this way, we wanted to support the process of integration of young migrants in the host countries by facilitating their transition and helping them overcome economic, social, cultural and political obstacles.
