The objectives of the project focused on facilitating the integration of young immigrants and their families into a new environment. This included providing essential information to make their daily lives easier, reducing feelings of isolation, and encouraging active participation in society, education, and the labor market. Additionally, the project aimed to enhance the competencies of teachers and youth workers by introducing them to various methods and best practices critical for the successful inclusion of young immigrants. All project activities emphasized the international transfer of knowledge, experiences, and best practices. Our efforts centered on promoting intercultural understanding and overcoming prejudice, enabling young people to explore different cultures, which strengthened solidarity, empathy, and social skills. We developed practical and sustainable tools for immigrant inclusion, including brochures tailored to specific countries, as well as activities and programs now implemented by local organizations.
In local communities and partner countries across Europe, the number of young immigrants and their families facing integration challenges is rising. A lack of information on administrative procedures makes it difficult to register for residence, enroll in schools and kindergartens, and access healthcare. Many struggle to establish social connections, leading to loneliness and isolation. Additionally, teachers and youth workers often lack effective tools and methods to support integration, while knowledge of good practices remains limited. The project aimed to address these challenges by providing young immigrants and their families with essential information and tools to adapt to their new environment. It also equipped teachers and youth workers with training on best practices for integration. Through international cooperation, we developed informational brochures and explored innovative methods and activities to enhance the inclusion of immigrants in local communities and youth organization programs. The project tackled key integration challenges and offered critical support to professionals working with young immigrants.
