The initiative to organize a youth exchange came directly from our young people - members of the SCVČ and high school students. In recent years, our center has been more and more connected with the bilingual gymnasium. At the gymnasium, we started a new project called Social communication, where we get closer to young students through discussions and opening up of painful topics. It is a subject about emotions, about the connection of mind and soul, about openness and acceptance of oneself. We try to bridge this barrier with them through discussions, we name mental processes, we open up hidden topics. We believed that with this youth exchange we would influence at least one young life outside of school. Our goal was to touch the souls of young people and by caring and guiding them to take responsibility for their feelings and emotions, show them the direction of a possibly new life path. * With the project, we aimed primarily at supporting the mental health of all participants, we planned to raise awareness of the mental health of young people in Slovakia and partner countries, * we also planned to increase their awareness of the existence and importance of mental health prevention, as well as knowledge of contacts and first aid lines for mental health problems and depression → also how to actually know how to use them when a mental problem occurs, * we planned to focus on the development of youth self-reflection - to motivate young people to talk openly about their feelings without fear and anxiety, to be able to name those feelings and to feel accepted and heard, * with group activities, we planned to raise awareness of the development of solidarity and such important tolerance among young people, support and mutual respect, * through creative tasks, we tried to achieve an understanding of several different cultural customs and their views, to show young people a completely different understanding of life and a different point of view on situations in different countries, * with simulations of crisis situations, we wanted to support the recognition of a real stressful situation and direct young people to possible ways to manage it - anxiety, depression, ... * with role-playing games, we wanted to focus on erasing the inequalities that, unfortunately, constantly prevail among young people. In doing so, we wanted to develop solidarity and promote tolerance between them, * through workshops, we planned to show specific tips for managing stressful and problematic situations - finding a way out of every situation, * through participation in the team, we wanted to lead the participants to personal and social development through informal education and informal learning, * by working on activities and in a team, we planned to increase the autonomy and independence of the participants and their approach to solving mental problems, *by involving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, we also planned to support inclusion, which offers the same opportunities to all young people on exchange. * through regular discussions, we planned to provide our participants with a multicultural environment and space for active talking, discussion and sharing of situations that need to be opened. * with the project, we wanted to support the development of self-worth, self-confidence of young people and restore their zest for life. * we wanted to support the development of values and virtues that enrich the personality of the participants, such as: independence, openness, innovativeness, creativity, patience in communication, assertiveness, cooperation and a sense of community work. * we wanted to help young people develop social cohesion that will help them be more successful and team players. * we planned to strengthen their awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses, so that they would be more effective and direct in dealing with conflicts and stressful situations. * we planned to provide them with information about the countries and cultures of our partner organizations in an attractive way. We had a need to offer our young people opportunities for direct contact with people from other cultures, while teaching them to look for what unites us and, on the contrary, to understand and respect possible differences. We had high expectations from this project, but mainly we wanted to connect with young people and create a very comfortable, safe and creative space for them, where they can learn informally and thus fulfill their needs for safe expression, relaxation, and in addition to acquiring new knowledge and meeting new people and definitely having fun. With the project, we planned to emphasize the emotional, educational and personal development of young people in education in combination with informal education. We believed that all these visions of ours would come true.
