Objectives

With our training course we aimed to target topics of being authentic and honest, while not being rejected, hurting others or being misunderstood. We were aiming for our participants to stay true to themselves and be conscious and resilient, thus becoming adult role models for the young people, they work with. Topic of the TC were authenticity, spontaneity, non-violent communication, radical honesty altogether with inspiration from movement and nature. We believe that by being truer and more authentic to themselves and their environments the youth workers may inspire, motivate and support the youth to be more self-aware, proactive, less prone to manipulation and able to establish and keep meaningful connections and relationships, aiming for a better society and life in it. The specific objectives of our project were: - To identify and acknowledge challenges of being authentic as a youth worker but also a human being - To learn how to empathise with others but also with oneself and to prioritize self-value, truthful expression and self-care and apply these in holistic, creative ways. - To train participants into becoming more authentic, spontaneous, true to themselves and surroundings, accepting the light and dark sides of their individualities and at the same time staying tender - To increase the level of knowledge related to the innovative methods of non-formal and experiential education: non-violent communication, nature-based methods and learning, practice of radical honesty, improvisation tools (theatre and contact dance) - To support resilience of the participants and youth with these methods in everchanging world -To develop empowering attitudes of the participants for enhancing their own potential - To enhance competences in creating and delivering nature and spontaneity-based activities for the young people they work with. - To increase the understanding on how to learn from and use nature in the educational and developmental path of authenticity, creativity and self-discovery of youth. -To stimulate networking, exchange of good practices and the planning of new ideas and projects and provide youth organisations and youth workers with opportunities for cooperation and peer support, fostering quality improvements in European youth work - To increase the motivation of 24 youth workers to actively focus on being more open and honest when working with youth. - To equip 24 youth workers with innovative and quality non-formal education methods and tools that foster truer relationships, social connection, healthier well-being, resilience and inclusion (of every emotion and others) We managed to reach all of our objectives through the use of our methodologies based on non-formal education, experiential learning, psychology and movement research, outdoor education and interdisciplinary exchange.
