Objectives

Volunteering was defined as "the voluntary participation in an event, activity, or purpose, in which the volunteer helped the needy, spared their free time, shared their knowledge and experiences, established new social connections, and did not receive any material or material benefit." However, with the Erasmus+ program, we were faced with the fact that volunteering was a concept that provided young people with the necessary competencies in expressing themselves well, learning languages, and different business areas. With our Professional Volunteering in Sports project, we aimed to enable young people to carry out the competencies they acquired through volunteering more professionally, together with a tailor-made training in the field of sports. In order to bring together the concepts of sports and volunteering, it was necessary to sit on the same ground with a few basic requirements. The fact that the society in which young people lived was based on education and a healthy structure was one of them. There was a need for ambitious young people who could use their knowledge, talents, and values to change civic life in order to keep the issues such as fair play, healthy life, respect, and inclusiveness in the spirit of sports alive. We had determined the methods we would follow within the scope of our project as volunteering, encouraging young people to participate in social areas, gaining experience, and increasing employment. Volunteering in our project encouraged young people to take action both locally and internationally and to take an active role in solving problems.
