Objectives

In the developing world, energy is of vital importance for ensuring the social and economic development of countries and developing development policies. Energy consumption is one of the primary components for the development of technology and the completion of social development. Due to the continuing population growth and industrial development in the world, the limited energy resources needed and the widening gap between energy production and consumption necessitates the use of alternative resources and the development of different policies. In terms of energy consumption, it is predicted that the amount of energy consumed in 1998 will double in 2035 and triple in 2055. The fact that fossil fuels, which are still widely used and depleted today, will be used in the near future also increases the anxiety of countries about energy security day by day. The fact that energy has such a strategic importance for countries requires a lot of work to be done on issues such as having energy resources and using resources effectively. Fossil fuels, which meet most of the energy needs, are decreasing day by day. The intense use of fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas, especially in the 20th century, and their effects such as ozone layer depletion, acid rain and global warming, have left the world faced with environmental pollution that is perhaps difficult to reverse. The way to reduce the use of fossil fuels is to find new energy sources. That's why the concept of renewable energy source has emerged today. Renewable energy is defined as "an energy source that can renew itself at a rate equal to the energy taken from the energy source or faster than the rate of depletion of the source." Renewable energies do not have risks of running out like other types of energy (coal, oil, natural gas, etc.), they are infinite. In addition, the advantage of renewable energy sources over fossil fuels is that they do not pollute the environment and are friendly to nature and living things. It is seen that different renewable energy sources are used according to geographical characteristics in the European Union countries and our country, whose only external dependence is on energy. Although it is predicted that non-renewable and traditional fossil energy sources will not be abandoned in the near future, those who manage the countries and the energy sector support the use of renewable energy sources as an alternative and the studies that will ensure technological development in this field. In addition, providing the energy needed by the society in a balanced, sufficient, high-quality, low-cost, continuous and environmentally compatible way and increasing the diversity of these resources are important for both the present and the future of the countries. These developments show that renewable energy is a very hot topic, and that there are individual and social misunderstandings, information pollution and question marks. Improving the perceptions of individuals and societies on this issue will lead to answers to existing questions and elimination of information pollution. In order to improve the perception of renewable energy, it is necessary to explain to societies what renewable energy means and its importance for the future of our world. This requirement was the starting point of the current project. In 2030, energy consumption is expected to increase by 60% in the world and more than 100% in Turkey. The main goal we achieved with our project was to raise awareness on this issue and increase the number of nature-friendly individuals in order to increase the use of renewable energy resources by telling people, especially young people, about renewable energy resources. Many studies and policies have been carried out in the European Union and our country, which have been working on global warming and environmental protection with very large budgets for a long time. Stronger support for these policies and increasing efforts to protect nature were among the goals we achieved with our project.
