Green Crescent's research on technology addiction shows that it is not appropriate for children under the age of 2 to encounter technological devices. In the pre-school age group, internet use is sufficient, not exceeding half an hour a day. In primary school, 45 minutes should be allocated daily, except for homework. In the following years, 1 hour per day is appropriate, although the weekend may be more flexible. In high school age, 2 hours a day is sufficient. According to studies, 3.6% of young people between the ages of 12-18 in our country are considered to be internet addicts, while 21.8% are at the border of internet addiction. According to the sources of the International Telecommunication Union, this rate is close to 25% in Europe. Physical and psychological symptoms occur in the absence of behavioral addictions (shopping, gaming, social media). Those who are addicted to the internet cannot prevent their desire to use the internet excessively. Digital addictions affect individuals and families in devastating and dangerous ways. For example, digital addictions can have detrimental effects on an individual's career or education as they spend their time using digital rather than focusing on school or work-related tasks. Digital addiction can lead to procrastination and avoidance from work. Digital addictions can also hinder relationships as the individual loses interest in socializing or communicating at the expense of their digital devices. A wide range of negative consequences of this addiction include disconnections in family relationships, psychological and physical disorders, declines in academic achievement, difficulty in adapting to society, inability to discover personal skills, obesity, posture disorders, sleep disorders, vision problems, unemployment, productivity, creativity and scientific research. There are very serious consequences such as blunting thinking skills and social exclusion. This addiction is observed more in young people who can use mobile devices and technological products without difficulty. For this reason, it is observed that most of the young people talk and meet with their friends via the internet, stay away from the social environment, lie, do not want to leave the house, great declines in school success, and outbursts of anger when their opportunities are limited. Moreover, according to the Digital 2021 research prepared in partnership with Hootsuite and We Are Social, 66.6% of the world's population actively uses mobile devices, 59.5% uses the internet and 53% uses social media actively. The use of mobile devices is 4 hours a day for the average android user. Daily internet usage is 6 hours 54 minutes. The time spent on social media has gradually increased to 2 hours and 25 minutes a day. As youth groups and organizations, we must act urgently on the problem of digital addiction. Local communities, leaders and European citizens must be responsible for the health and safety of young people. We have to show young people examples of the bad consequences of their decisions and behaviors. For this reason, we aim to work on digital addiction, to create a local and national awareness on this issue, to use digital tools consciously, and to use the free time of young people correctly and effectively. While doing this, we plan to choose exercise and sports for an active life, and non-formal education methods for fun and learning by doing. The goals of our project are: - To raise awareness about digital addiction among young people, to raise awareness about the correct and effective use of time with the Internet, -Defining digital tools as facilitators in our daily life needs and work, (no more) -To help young people produce new ideas about making use of their free time, to support them to exercise and do sports, -To support young people to take responsibility, increase their self-confidence and communication skills, - Encouraging youth, organizations and social segments to cooperate to fight against digital addiction, -To increase the knowledge and skills of young leaders in the fields of intercultural communication, tolerance, motivation and active participation in life, -Participants; To introduce the programs and opportunities offered by Erasmus+, to motivate active participation in youth work, -To lay a foundation with participants and organizations in order to create an international network of learning, information and struggle about digital addiction and its harms.
