Turkey is located in a very special geography where cultural and natural assets are concentrated underground, above ground and under water. Anatolia is a special area where a wide variety of civilizations have lived together for millennia and throughout history. Our country, where various civilizations were born and developed, has a very rich cultural heritage, with cultural assets of all types and qualities, starting from prehistory, and the settlements formed by the coexistence of these assets. The term cultural heritage emerged and spread as the name of the cultural heritage protection program during the studies within UNESCO, which gained strength in the 1970s, expanded with expert discussions, and reached new dimensions as it progressed to the present day. After the Establishment Convention, which was prepared in 1945 and entered into force in 1946, UNESCO, of which Turkey is one of the founders, came into force with its document titled Consensus on the Transport of Educational, Scientific and Cultural Objects dated 1950 and the Protocol of this document dated 1976, although it was not directly related to cultural activities. Although it was not aimed at the protection of heritage, it made its first important regulation in the international arena, including culture. After this document, which draws attention to cultural objects as well as educational and scientific objects, when UNESCO's conservation programs for culture and cultural heritage are looked at in chronological order, first of all experts and general understanding indicate that priority is given to high historical and artistic value in case of war, conflict and similar civil unrest. It is understood that it is given to cultural assets that are accepted by the international community and are movable. With two separate conventions dated 1954 and 1970, UNESCO made an intergovernmental regulation to take precautions against the danger of cultural objects not being protected due to armed conflict or smuggling of historical artifacts. It shows that the perception of cultural heritage to be protected in the conventions prepared by UNESCO until this date is focused on "object/object" and "structure/architecture". The existence of architects or a limited number of other experts with the necessary technical or theoretical equipment for the protection of cultural and natural assets cannot be sufficient to protect the values in our country. What is important is that every individual living in this country embraces the cultural history of the society to which they belong, realizes the importance of all kinds of cultural and natural assets that exist in these lands and form the basis of our contemporary self, and is proud of owning them rather than being hesitant. In order to establish a legal and administrative framework that can achieve this, to establish and develop technical teams, to create appropriate resources and ensure their correct distribution, it is necessary to have an education starting from childhood and to reflect this in education with the right tools. The protection of our cultural and natural assets will only be possible by creating a public awareness in which everyone, every institution and organization, and every professional group plays a role voluntarily, beyond the current understanding. It is especially important for young people to gain awareness about preserving cultural heritage values and transferring them to the future. When all these issues come together, this project titled "Cultures Meet in Hattusa" was designed to ensure that people from different cultures become aware of our cultural values, to recognize their cultural values, and most importantly, to ensure the importance and protection of cultural values all over the world with the logic of common cultural values. The specific aims of this project are; -To raise awareness of cultural values among young people and to raise public awareness. -To identify cultural and natural assets and convey them to young people, to reveal diversity, and to emphasize why these values should be protected. -To determine the importance of public awareness regarding the protection of cultural heritage values and the role of education in this context. -With this project, supporting the recognition of our country's cultural heritage at national and international scales, primarily in its own region. -Within the scope of this project, it is also aimed to raise awareness about the characteristics of the Çorum province archaeological site as an immovable cultural heritage and sensitivity to participate in the process.
