The background of our Erasmus Plus Youth Exchange project on nonviolent communication is based on the handling of the phenomenon of violence, which has been an important human defect throughout human history. From a historical perspective, violence in many forms, starting with communication from Abel and Cain, within the family, between peers and between the sexes, is one of the key obstacles to social peace. It is obvious that states are trying to combat acts of violence through laws. However, non-governmental organizations also contribute to the fight against violence in matters that fall within their field. It is important to address the root causes of violence, to transform the language of communication at the individual level, and to support it through various stages, starting from family education to early education. At this point, the importance of youth exchange projects emerges. This project was initiated in order to emphasize the concept of non-violent communication, which is accepted as one of the foundations of social welfare and peace. The main objective of the project is to raise awareness on a specific issue for young people and youth workers and to create an experience sharing environment through experienced partners. The project strategy has been shaped in line with the following sub-goals: • To show young people how to cope with their inner feelings of violence and how to express themselves in anger situations without violence. • To help them become nonviolent parents when they start a family in the future. • To reduce the rates of youth violence and domestic violence in the European region. • To increase cooperation between local and transnational institutions in the prevention of domestic violence. The main objective of the project is for young individuals to learn how to cope with their feelings of violence and the importance of the concept of family. It is aimed to contribute to the improvement of the concept of family in society by increasing the skills of young people between the ages of 18-30. In this way, it is aimed to get rid of the ongoing cycle of violence in society. The success of the project has been measured by increasing the knowledge and awareness of young people and youth workers on nonviolent communication and having the competencies that will contribute to the prevention of domestic violence in the future.
