Objectives

In light of the widespread phenomenon of individuals migrating from their home countries to those perceived as economically and socially advantageous, we have decided to address the psychosocial issues that arise from such migration. Our objective was to bring attention to the psychosocial challenges faced by immigrants, and we successfully accomplished this aim by engaging with both immigrant and local youth workers. Initially, in collaboration with our partners, we conducted interviews across various countries that included both local residents and immigrants. Concurrently, we administered survey research to explore the psychosocial issues experienced by immigrants in participating countries such as Türkiye, Hungary, France, Latvia, and Macedonia. Our interviews and survey research revealed the extent of psychosocial challenges faced by immigrants. Our initiative aimed to increase understanding of the psychosocial challenges faced by immigrants and decrease prejudice related to these issues in various countries. We provided current information on this topic to stakeholders and participants. In collaboration with our partners, we promoted our project in educational settings such as universities, including Eötvös Lorand University, Maarif School as well as in workplaces. Our project has been successful in achieving several goals. Our primary objective was to carry out a project activity that was full-attended, and we achieved this goal with the participation of 40 individuals, as can be seen in our videos and photos. Additionally, we aimed to foster a sense of solidarity among the local people in order to mitigate the difficulties that arise due to migration. Through our efforts, we were able to positively impact the level of solidarity among these individuals. Furthermore, we conducted research to gain insight into the psychosocial problems faced by immigrants living in various countries, including Türkiye, Hungary, France, Latvia, and Macedonia. This research led us to create a booklet, podcasts, and highlight videos that explain the psychosocial problems faced by immigrants in different areas, such as school, work, and friendship. We were able to effectively disseminate the results of our project in Turkey and Europe by presenting an introduction to Erasmus+ projects and demonstrating the use of project Finder tools, such as Salto Youth Partner Finding. By organizing cultural activities, we facilitated participants' understanding of customs and languages from other countries. Moreover, we provided certificates, such as Youthpass and Attendance Certificates, to our participants, and we included the logos of funding organizations, such as Erasmus+ and the Turkish National Agency. Additionally, we highlighted our most popular tourist destination, Istanbul, and promoted Turkish cuisine.
