About Our Project Transportation is one of the most important elements of our age and our lives. It is the most used highway in transportation. More than 90% of transportation activities are carried out by road, and road accidents are among the important causes of death, as in the world. According to the Road Safety Global Status Report prepared by the World Health Organization based on data compiled from 178 countries, traffic accidents, which rank 9th in the list of causes of death, are predicted to rank 5th in 2030. There is an increase in the rate of traffic accidents due to many reasons such as speeding, drunk driving, distraction, insomnia, unsafe vehicles and road infrastructure, neglected traffic rules, inadequate vehicle maintenance and repair. Studies and reports prepared worldwide point out that the vision of minimizing the risks that cause traffic accidents should be made mandatory as soon as possible. For example, 48 percent of deaths in Turkey, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Kenya, Mexico, Russia and Vietnam occur due to traffic accidents. Raising individual and social awareness on this issue requires shared responsibility. In this context, by carrying out our project, we investigate the accident situations of pedestrians and drivers in traffic, their attitudes and thoughts towards speed and causes of accidents, their perception of traffic rules, their level of awareness about vehicle and road safety, their attitudes in traffic, the issue of drunk driving, etc. An effort was made to ensure that youth workers gain awareness. In particular, the issues that threaten public health and the measures taken worldwide regarding traffic and road safety were examined together with the participating countries and contributed to the awareness of our project in the target group.
