This project started with the mutual interest associated with the exchange of experiences and values between Turkey and EU member state Spain and Türkiye to promote mutual knowledge, respect and understanding of their respective cultures. The project developed civil society dialogue between organizations from Türkiye and Spain working in inclusive environments for disadvantaged target groups. The project contributed to enhance the potential of cultural institution in Türkiye to cooperate with NGOs having cultural activities in Spain. We aimed at establishing long-term cooperation and partnerships related to culture, traditional music and dances ,archaeological sites, rituals, and legends, museums, monuments, historic places, historic artworks, tourism and arts sector and providing awareness raising in culture and arts by means of common events, transnational meetings, sharing power point presentations about the living cultural heritage, traditional values, which contributed to intercultural understanding and tolerance by all parts. Young people’s sense of intercultural understanding, better preservation of cultural heritage, respect other cultures was increased, civic engagement and participation was provided.
We applied for this project to achieve ethnic minorities, migrants, people with disabilities, people that experience a higher risk of poverty, social exclusion, discrimination to learn about host country's culture, conservation and promotion of cultural heritage in each country, promoting tourism. Due to Cultural differences many immigrants faced prejudice, isolation and raising children according to the culture of the country they live in. We aimed to get them be familiar with the culture of the country, raise their children in accordance with the culture of host country. Both young people from each country and migrants learned about the Cultural and Historical characteristics, Local Traditions, dances, music, traditional values, arts and crafts, dances, rituals, which are at risk of being forgotten by the younger generation. By participating in the cultural activities, the target group learned about culture of the host country, which contributed not to feel isolated, live happily with their peers in the society. We aimed at promotion and enhancement of common cultural heritage activities implemented in partnership between Turkish and EU organisations and contributed promoting tourism destinations in Türkiye and Spain.
