Objectives

We aimed to sustain a high level of student mobility while also broadening participation among other groups, including staff, doctoral candidates, and students from challenging backgrounds, thereby ensuring that diverse members of our community could benefit from international experiences. To support this goal, several Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) were planned, designed both to strengthen and expand our strategic partnerships and to provide additional financial support to students who might otherwise encounter barriers to participation abroad. Staff Mobility as a Strategic Priority Particular attention was given to teaching and training mobility for both academic and non-academic staff. Staff mobilities play a critical role as multipliers: they not only enrich their own professional and intercultural competences but also foster a welcoming and inclusive culture on campus, while actively contributing to the broader internationalisation of the institution. Monitoring visits to partner universities were integrated into teaching staff mobilities, enabling us to assess the quality of existing partnerships, address potential challenges, and strengthen cooperation within the framework of our internationalisation strategy. Digitalisation and Sustainability in Mobility Management Another key objective was the further development of the online application management system for outgoing students, aligning with the European priority of digitalisation and contributing to greater sustainability. The outgoing workflow was revised with a particular focus on: • BIPs, ensuring smooth procedures for participants and coordinators, • academic recognition processes, with the aim of reducing administrative obstacles and improving transparency, • support for students from challenging backgrounds, who may face specific recognition-related barriers. For incoming students, the implemented workflow now integrates both internal and external systems, enabling seamless information exchange and giving all relevant stakeholders—including the curriculum committee, mobility coordinators, and the study department—greater visibility into the progress, quality, and recognition status of each application. This digital integration strengthens quality assurance and enhances accountability across all levels of the mobility process. Through these measures, the Academy has taken concrete steps to ensure that mobility opportunities remain inclusive, strategically aligned, and sustainable. By combining mobility for diverse groups, staff multiplier effects, and digital innovation, we are building a framework that not only supports individual participants but also advances the institution’s long-term internationalisation goals.
