Objectives

In a world grappling with new challenges related to mobility, globalization, and internationalization, the University of Applied Arts Vienna strives to have a positive impact on art, research, and society. We are dedicated to steering the present toward the future by harnessing the connective and perspective-opening properties of mobility programs. We know that we cannot achieve this goal alone. The complex challenges ahead require international, collective, multi-pronged approaches, the foundation of which are robust international partnerships and connections. At the Angewandte, teachers, researchers, students, alumni, employees, and partners come together to advocate for an open society. We leverage artistic and scientific expertise to achieve this goal, inventing new forms of work, education, art, and science, and constantly exploring new ways to facilitate intercultural dialogue. Internationality is an integral part of university life at our institution. We see it not as an additional field of work but as an indispensable part of all activities and measures. This includes connecting networks of expertise involved in international composite projects and fostering high levels of competence in international discourse in art and science. This includes forming international student and faculty groups. Through steady contributions to openness, active innovation, anticipation of future challenges, and communication with our partners, we ensure that all our exchange programs meet the educational, professional, and research standards of other internationally renowned universities.
