Internationalisation is considered a top priority at TU Graz and looking at the mobility numbers this project significantly contributed to its success. The ultimate goal of this project – as in the projects before – was to enable students and staff (both academic and non-academic) to spend time abroad at our partner universities. The physical mobility of our students and staff has not only enhanced and diversified academic knowledge and competences but it has fostered international and intercultural learning in addition to improving foreign language skills. Since TU Graz became member of Unite!, the University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering, numerous new activities were developed jointly during the project thus increasing and intensifying mobility and cooperation on a larger scale. Staff mobilities especially have increased; staff members emphasise that they experience an increasing benefit from insights into other (university) cultures, learning from colleagues, working with experts, and expanding their professional portfolio. TU Graz is strongly committed to inclusion and diversity, green and digital transformation as well as intercultural understanding, active citizenship and European values. Mobilities and the collaboration with partner institutions are seen as important drivers for the mentioned topics. The more students, faculty and staff can be motivated to participate in European/international activities and get hands-on experience, the more it is likely to change mindsets. A total of 245 mobilities and one BIP were planned, 304 mobilities, including 164 students and 140 staff, and one BIP with 11 partners, 21 learners and 3 teachers were realised.
