Sharing academic experiences through Erasmus+ is central to the Private University of Education, Linz Diocese (PHDL) and forms an integral part of our internationalization strategy. PHDL places a strong emphasis on intercultural exchange, language skill development, and internationalization as a means to enhance the personal skill sets of students and university staff alike. These elements significantly contribute to the development of values, attitudes, and the cultivation of a “global mindset.” Following internal development processes, the Center for International Educational Cooperation (ZIB) was established as an independent organizational unit in Call23. The goal is to highlight the strategic importance of internationalization within the university and to clarify responsibilities. Call23 particularly aimed to address the so-called ‘horizontal priorities’, i.e. to optimize existing processes, streamline synergies for scientific research, and to review and diversify our mobility agreements with our partners. Additionally, major steps have been taken to promote “green travel” and provide an incentive for sustainability, equal opportunities, integration, and democratic awareness. Greater diversity was also achieved with regard to our incoming students by implementing significant changes. The project’s 26-month running time has made it very difficult for us to interpret the data pertaining to Call23 reliably, and the results do not readily lend themselves to comparisons with previous reports either.
