Mobility is a core element of internationalization since spending time in another country is a particularly effective means of acquiring international and intercultural skills. It is our objective to ensure that all members of the university are able to enjoy the benefits of mobility, where possible. We are therefore aiming to increase participation in structured mobility programs, as well as promoting and expanding opportunities for mobility within existing university cooperations. With regards to the Erasmus Programme the Medical University of Innsbruck has continued to pursue objectives as to establish further Erasmus partnerships with other universities, to take further steps to simplify the credit transfer process and to increase staff mobility. The Erasmus Programme has been an important means of achieving our internationalisation goals. Participation in the programme has enabled us to establish new partnerships and areas of cooperation, maintain and improve them, and fulfil the required number of mobilities. It is with pleasure that we see how interested students are in taking part in the Erasmus Programme, thus being able to gain new experience and to train intercultural understanding in the medical-scientific context. Erasmus Staff Mobility and Teaching Staff Mobility provide valuable opportunities for academic and administrative staff to broaden their professional horizons, engage in intercultural dialogue, and introduce new perspectives into their work environments. This, in turn, has a positive impact on the quality of teaching and research at the Medical University of Innsbruck. The Medical University of Innsbruck does not view international mobility and in particular the participation in the Erasmus Programme as an optional extra, but as integral part of its mission. By continuing to participate in the Erasmus Programme we are preparing our university community to be active, responsible, and culturally competent contributors to the global medical and academic landscape.
