Objectives

Erasmus+ mobility projects play a central role in the internationalisation strategy of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (FH Salzburg). The project with the funding number 2023-1-AT01-KA131-HED-000132083 was planned with this strategic function in mind and pursued the following objectives, among others: - Access to international experiences A key objective was to provide more students and staff with access to international experiences. To achieve this, new and easily accessible mobility opportunities were to be developed—particularly for part-time students and participants with fewer opportunities. The mobility offerings were intended to benefit all areas of the university and contribute to a broad-based internationalisation. - Internationalisation of the curriculum and campus life In the area of staff mobility for teaching purposes, the aim was to expand professional and intercultural competencies and to initiate new joint study programmes and projects. Staff mobilities for training purposes were intended to help embed international perspectives more firmly in teaching, research, and administration, while also strengthening the intercultural skills and language proficiency of staff members. Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) were designed to contribute to the internationalisation of campus life and the curriculum in addition to the academic component. By integrating and further developing experiences from BIPs, innovative teaching and learning formats were to be established and organisational processes improved. Organisational Support was allocated to expand linguistic and intercultural offerings, particularly language courses and intercultural training for students before and during their mobility. - Strategic expansion of the partner network The joint handling of mobility programmes and regular exchanges should further deepen and strengthen existing international cooperation at FH Salzburg. BIPs were intended to support the development of partner networks and strategic partnerships. Through the targeted use of staff mobility, strategic partnerships were to be further deepened. - Digitalisation of processes Administrative processes in the field of internationalisation were to be further digitalised, particularly through the use and development of the mobility platform currently in use at FH Salzburg. Overall, the project was intended to significantly enhance FH Salzburg’s attractiveness as an international higher education institution and strengthen Salzburg’s position as an international educational hub.
