The Kunstuniversität Graz (KUG) decided, in the context of University’s Development Plan plans for 2022–2027 and 2025–2030 (resolution dated 24 October 2023), to implement "measures to promote student mobility" with the ultimate aim of increasing student mobility numbers. As part of this initiative, the possibility of short-term mobility was explored and implemented through the Call 2021 and strategically developed through Call 2022. Thus, a shift from long-term to short-term mobilities, particularly in connection with Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), has been achieved during Call 2023. The International Office offered therefore various opportunities for international mobility available to both academic staff and their students. This resulted in student and staff mobility no longer being treated as separate activities; instead, project-based international experiences were made accessible to all members of the KUG. The collaboration between the International Office and teaching staff has contributed to sustainable numbers for both students and academic staff. Teaching staff not only took advantage of opportunities to travel abroad as part of their teaching roles but also utilised the Erasmus+ programme for their own professional development. Moreover, the Erasmus+ programme was extended to include online informational sessions for administrative staff, which are now held once per semester. In particular, Erasmus+ opportunities for administrative staff should be made more attractive.
