Objectives

At the University of Education Lower Austria, internationalisation is closely linked to openness, diversity, and interdisciplinary exchange. The 2023 Erasmus+ project aimed to support lecturers, students, and administrative staff in their linguistic, intercultural, and professional development, thereby making an active contribution to shaping the European Education Area. A strategic focus was the mobility of ten lecturers to Dublin. As part of an intensive academic English course, participants enhanced their language skills in a targeted way and gained didactic impulses for English-taught courses, with the aim of expanding the offer for Erasmus incoming students and strengthening internationalisation within the institution. In addition, mobilities to various European countries helped to deepen partnerships, establish new collaborations, and initiate future research projects. Examples include the establishment of a new partner institution in Gran Canaria, the invitation of a lecturer from Seville for a staff teaching stay in the field of music education, the initiation of a potential joint implementation of a Blended Intensive Programme with a Portuguese partner institution, the strengthening of existing research collaborations in Croatia, and participation in a staff week in Antwerp, which provided valuable input for building international networks. Student mobilities – both incoming and outgoing – also made a significant contribution to a vibrant, international campus life.
