A1: Project Goals Youth Participation in Shaping Europe's Future The project brings together young people from across the EU to develop and express their ideas, questions, and concerns about the future of Europe. It aims to promote their active involvement in shaping European policy. Cross-border exchange, mutual learning, and intercultural encounters are central to the project. In the context of the 2024 EU elections, the project seeks to engage participants in discussions on democracy, inclusive democratic participation, EU awareness, technological developments, and environmental challenges. It prepares them for the EU elections while also enabling them to convey their perspectives to EU politicians. Following an intensive phase of getting to know each other, shared EU-related activities, and strong group cohesion, participants focused on key topics of their choice. They formulated their wishes, demands, and ideas, which were then presented and discussed in a final panel discussion with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). The results were subsequently submitted to the European Commission to promote youth participation in EU policy-making. A2: The primary focus was on professional exchange, networking, and promoting the European Youth Goals. According to the program, participants were expected to engage with various topics related to sports and other important associated issues. These were explored and reflected upon through lectures, workshops, and a practical component that introduced the storytelling method. (See program for details.) A3: Knowledge sharing and exchange with addiction prevention agencies in Austria, South Tyrol, and Berlin. Key topics included: How can we strengthen the mental health of children and adolescents during and after crises? Psychosocial health – Austria’s Mental Health Strategy. Loneliness and addiction – how men fall into it and how they can get out again.
