Grenzenlos is organising international projects and intercultural exchanges for 75 years. In the last years, we dedicated our trainings to the topics of civil courage, human rights, peace-work and crisis management. To continue our path and work towards our goals of the accreditation, we wanted to address the issues of communication in social media, decolonisation, new trends and cooperations in international volunteering and daily life to raise awareness on the topic while also empowering youth workers to be able to address colonial structures in their work. Within the frame of this budget request, we organised three training courses: Decolonise Now! Visual Storytelling Training, together for a bright future, Trends and common issues in European volunteering. With the three training courses we wanted to invite participants to speak actively and share their experience on a specific topic with the group by resorting to non-formal learning. With our activities we’ve aimed to encourage youth workers to use what they have learnt in their daily life and in their work as well as working together to find solutions for problems many are facing. Specific goals were: - How to create visual stories using video and photo to craft cohesive and persuasive narratives that can captivate and engage a wide range of audiences - Look critically at the developed materials and improve visual storytelling guidelines for future digital visual storytelling materials in IVS - To find solutions for burning questions like quality standards in international volunteering - Finding ways to keep volunteers active and committed in the organisations
