Objectives

The General Framework of our Project Changing migration flows since the 1960s in the globalised world order have changed women's problems, needs and ways of experiencing migration. Situations such as war, conflict, psychological and physical violence, economic difficulties, natural disasters and human rights violations may cause women to migrate. In situations of war and armed conflict, women in vulnerable groups are often subjected to sexual violence. This situation has become an accepted fact as it occurs in almost all regions and in all periods. Women come from war zones to face violations of their basic human rights and various forms of violence. They migrate compulsorily due to the conflicts they face. According to data from the International Organisation for Migration's Migration Report, the number of migrants has reached 281 million. The number of international migrants has exceeded the projected rate of 230 million (2.3 per cent) estimated for 2050. When the gender ratios of this population are analysed, it is seen that 48% are women and 52% are men. Based on all these data, we wanted to implement our project and help our participants to learn new information about the problems faced by refugee women and to raise awareness. Objectives Achieved with Our Project 1We ensured that our participants develop awareness of the problems faced by refugee and migrant women and propose solutions to these problems. 2-We contributed to the sensitisation of our participants by enabling them to understand the traumas, violence and life-threatening situations that migrant women are exposed to during migration. 3-We helped our participants to gain the ability to empathise and to reach the awareness that migrants and refugees should be treated with tolerance. 4-We helped our participants to realise that they should avoid prejudiced attitudes by gaining sensitivity to the difficulties experienced by refugee and immigrant women. 5-We emphasised the importance of voluntary work by sharing the problems of refugee women in disadvantaged situations. 6-We raised awareness of our participants about issues such as combating discrimination, ensuring equal opportunities, emphasising gender equality and promoting cultural exchange. 7-We ensured that our participants learnt new information about Erasmus+ and Youthpass Certificate. 8-We enabled our participants to establish intercultural dialogue, engage in intercultural communication, improve their English language skills and get to know different cultural values closely by participating in cultural activities. 9- By informing our participants about sustainable environmentally friendly practices, we contributed to raising their awareness about recognising these practices and using at least one of them.
