The project aimed to address the significant gender disparity in sports participation between male and female students, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of women in sports teams to 50%. By systematically examining and identifying social and youth-based processes that influenced the retention and dropout of women from sports, the project sought to create mutual solutions in collaboration with six youth organizations from Austria, Türkiye, Spain, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. The project intended to ensure that sports and physical activities were relevant, motivating, and accessible for women and those at risk of dropping out. The project's objectives were directly linked to the Erasmus+ program and Youth Exchanges, with a focus on reducing gender and social barriers to sports participation. The project aimed to keep women engaged in sports through interactive activities that supported active participation in the network of Erasmus organizations. Each beneficiary youth organization was to share knowledge, provide advice, mentorship, and other support related to the inclusion of women in sports and physical activities. Additionally, the project emphasized the importance of shared leadership among partners. By creating activities at European, national, regional, and local levels throughout the project, the aim was to increase young women's participation in sports, positively affecting young people. The project sought to ensure that women enjoyed engaging in sports activities by implementing necessary sports strategies that built upon their enjoyment and allowed them to participate fully. Sports provisions were adapted to encourage and accommodate all young women. Partner organizations were expected to include women in key roles such as coaching and mentorship, reflecting diverse perspectives and developing close links with youth organizations and communities to ensure continuity of engagement in sports. Strategies were put in place to make activities, settings, and facilities easily accessible and safe for women. The importance of valuing coaches or trainers who treated women with respect, encouraged the team, communicated clearly, and provided positive feedback was highlighted. The project also aimed to improve participants' English language speaking skills and communication abilities. Participants were expected to treat one another with mutual respect, work in partnership, and support each other in asserting their rights, including engaging as allies for equality in sports. There was a focus on improving attitudes towards EU cultures and values among women and easing the harmonization process of EU educational systems through transnational cooperation.
