The main objectives of the project were to increase the professional competences of teachers and to make learning more attractive for students. Specifically, we aimed to: (1) support teachers in integrating tablets, mobile apps and interactive games into their daily practice, particularly in History and Language teaching; (2) promote outdoor learning activities for Biology and Geography, connecting classroom theory with real-life contexts; (3) introduce STEAM projects and innovative evaluation methods in Maths and Science to make assessment more meaningful and fun; (4) develop intercultural awareness and cooperation among teachers and students by working together in international teams; and (5) strengthen the European dimension of our schools by building a sustainable partnership. Through these objectives, we wanted to create motivating, inclusive and modern learning environments, to increase student interest and achievement, and to establish long-term professional connections that will continue after the project ends.
Our schools applied for this project because we shared similar challenges in motivating students and supporting teachers to modernise their teaching methods. Many teachers still relied heavily on traditional approaches and needed to acquire new competences related to digital tools, outdoor learning and STEAM-based education. At the same time, students were showing decreasing interest in subjects such as History, Biology, Geography and Science, which sometimes led to low achievement or even early school leaving. We wanted to address these needs by creating opportunities for teachers to learn from each other, to experiment with innovative pedagogical practices, and to collaborate on designing engaging lessons. Another important need was to build stronger intercultural competences and a European dimension in education. By participating in Erasmus+, we aimed to increase teachers’ confidence in using ICT, encourage creativity in lesson planning, and offer students more active, motivating and meaningful learning experiences.
