Horizontally the most relevant priority according to the objectives of our project was the "environment and fight against climate change". Especially the focus on the target group "youth" by promoting active citizenship, young people’s sense of initiative and youth entrepreneurship including social entrepreneurship, green skills environment and climate change were relevant topics to provide a puzzle piece with the preparation and communication of knowledge about the part of the ecological labelling of products and services. As the ECO-LABELING is a voluntary process it was also important to produce a critical understanding about the different ECO-LABELS about their impact, reach and barriers.
The aim of the project was to motivate and educate young consumers on using ECO-LABELS to promote environmentally friendly actions and contribute to preserving and protecting the environment. There are a large number of ECO-LABELS and it is not easy to understand what each one means. Moreover, some of them have come under criticism and thus counteract the efforts of reputable and strong ECO-LABELS. The project addressed different needs which were especially connected to the basic need behind ECO-LABELS, to create a sustainable behaviour in the daily choices of the target group. The project implementation especially addressed the needs of environmental responsibility, network of global ECO-LABELLING, provision of information, skills and competencies for direct and indirect target groups. Here it was especially the main target group of young people which has been involved.
