The overall objective of our Cooperation Partnership "Diverse Courses" is to contribute to inclusion and diversity in adult education in Europe. More particularly, "Diverse Courses" had three main objectives, which we have all achieved very well. The first objective was to support educators to better identify and understand the diverse composition of their learners and also their own colleagues' profiles and backgrounds. To achieve this objective, we first did a research of good practices, then developed practical profiling tools like questionnaires and interview guidelines and then used the "Personas" approach. This method helps to create realistic profiles of learners and educators, so it is easier to understand their needs and situations. The second objective was to give educators tools, methods and examples on how to adapt their teaching or these diverse needs that we identified. To achieve this objective, we investigated good practice examples of didactical methods and created a set of new "Didactical Scenarios" for different types of courses. The third objective was to promote and share all these resources developed with a wide audience, not only inside the partnership, but across the European landscape of adult education.
The Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership "Diverse Courses" is a follow-up project of a previous initiative called "Diversity Capacities" (DivCap). While the latter focused on the management of diversity on the meso-level of educational institutions from 2018 to 2021, this project, "Diverse Courses", focuses on the micro-level of didactical tools and methods to teaching and learning in the classroom from 2023 to 2025.The core objective of "Diverse Courses" is to contribute to inclusion and diversity in adult education. We want to support both educators and learners in adult education so that they can better address the growing diversity and different needs of both learners and educators in their courses. In the European landscape of adult education, educators face a big challenge to teach because of the rising complexity and diversity of their learners in diverse courses, which makes it necessary to strengthen their teaching competencies and give them didactical methods and tools for identifying, understanding, and addressing the different needs of learners and educators alike. The issue of inclusion is also highlighted by the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme as one of the most important education policies in Europe.
