Objectives

The international expansion of INSAS has been at the heart of the school's mission since its creation in 1962. This is reflected in a wide range of collaborations and projects: membership of international networks, organisation of IN and OUT teaching and student mobility programmes with various film, theatre and dance schools around the world, participation in masterclasses, workshops and training courses, partnerships with cultural operators, etc. The internationalisation of the school contributes to the integration of all courses (7 in Audiovisual, 4 in Theatre and 1 in Dance), with the aim of continuously improving the quality of higher arts education at INSAS. You will find more information in the INSAS quality assessment progress report drawn up in May 2025 (see ‘INSAS reflective note’ attached to the report). Participation in the Erasmus+ programme is one of the ways in which INSAS is developing its internationalisation. The implementation of this project enables INSAS students and staff to enjoy enriching international experiences and open up to other cultures. The educational objective of these experiences is to encourage participating students to broaden their horizons and discover other realities. In the coming years, the aim is to enable every student who passes through INSAS to have an international educational experience. In addition to the possibility of doing internships (whether compulsory as part of their course or not) outside Belgium, students are increasingly being offered international educational trips during their studies. The medium-term objective is for each course to offer an educational trip outside Belgium. Internationalisation also involves staff mobility, which allows the school to open up to new educational approaches and develop European cooperation projects, always with the aim of improving the quality of education offered at INSAS.
