Objectives

The Erasmus+ programme is a key instrument for achieving the objective set by UCLouvain in its “European Strategy Declaration 2021–2028”: to increase to 50% the proportion of graduates who have benefited from an international experience that adds significant value to their academic curriculum. This ambitious goal is supported by a range of initiatives promoting international exposure, including both short- and long-term physical mobility. The KA131 2023 project marked a significant step forward in this direction, with a total of 1,435 mobilities carried out, including 1,359 student mobilities. More broadly, the 2023 Erasmus+ project engages the entire university community and fosters both internationalisation and innovation within the institution. This project pursues several key objectives. First and foremost, it aims to fully integrate international exchanges into students’ academic paths through rigorous and structured management. This includes compliance with European standards, digital management of learning agreements, full academic recognition of achievements, and systematic monitoring of our commitments with both European and non-European partners. Inclusion is also a major priority. It is promoted through the allocation of additional internal funding and the diversification of mobility formats, including short-term and hybrid options. Finally, environmental responsibility is central to our efforts: additional grants from internal funds complement the Erasmus+ top-up to encourage participants to opt for sustainable modes of transport when travelling to their mobility destinations. NB: For reasons of conciseness, the generic masculine or abbreviated formulations may sometimes be used in this report. However, the report should be understood as addressing all individuals regardless of gender. It is intended to be inclusive and representative of the diversity of our university community.
