We wanted to find inspiration for our own courses and activities and for possible future projects. We aimed for an overview of concrete examples of successful integrated courses or activities for low-literate L2-learners, in collaboration with local partners and with a focus on social and professional participation. By discussing this overview with the teams involved and management in Atlas after the job shadowing, we wanted to inspire them to set up possible new collaborations or projects.
Atlas is responsible for the integration and integration policy in the city of Antwerp, we offer the integration program for newcomers and lead to Dutch lessons. Atlas also supports organisations and city services to lower barriers for people with a migration background. We have a very diverse targetgroup, including low-literate L2 learners. On this specific targetgroup we were looking for inspiring courses, activities and projects in collaboration with local partners.
