Objectives

BACKGROUND VIVES University of Applied Sciences has two separate Erasmus+ entities (B KORTRIJ01 and BE BRUGGE11) because of a merger in 2013. In practice, however, a single common policy is pursued in the field of internationalisation. For this reason, this report regularly contains similar or identical responses to those in the report of the other entity within VIVES. This approach reflects the shared vision, strategy, and implementation of the internationalisation policy within the University of Applied Sciences. VIVES University of Applied Sciences is located in the province of West Flanders in Belgium and has almost 20.000 students. VIVES offers education according to the baseline 'Drive-Connection-Innovation' and forms Associate (2 years) and Bachelor (3 or 4 years) degrees in close cooperation with the industry and the professional world. There are 6 departments: Business, Biotechnology, Technology, Education, Applied Social Sciences and Health Care. VIVES is member of the KULeuven Association and has campuses in five cities: Bruges, Ostend, Kortrijk, Roeselare and Torhout. OBJECTIVES for outgoing and incoming mobilities under E+ KA131, VIVES aimed to achieve: (1) open and transparant calls and communication; (2) transparant selection procedures; (3) clear information and administrative support; (4) tailor-made guidance for students and staff with special needs; (5) language support; (6) preparatory and cultural activities, with special focus on sustainability; (7) effective procedures and arrangements to ensure the protection and safety of the participants; (8) a policy towards the development of integrated, transnational teaching activities; (9) policy and procedures on full academic recognition; (10) housing support.
