Objectives

Internationalisation is a key, transversal component of KU Leuven's general policy, and Erasmus+ is one of the major contributors to reaching the specific goals of the university's Mobility for All policy. The university's objectives are not only to provide an added value to the academic experience of the participants, but also to strengthen international cooperation at the institutional level. Individual mobility forms a coherent part of our wider strategy of cooperation, and often leads to or strengthens cooperation in the field of research and innovation, or international curriculum development, or strategic projects with international partners within Erasmus+. As a member of the Una Europa university alliance, its internationalisation goals have only become more ambitious. With a target of 50% mobility (physical, online or blended), Erasmus+ remains a key instrument to aid the success of the Una Europa activities to reach this target. All activities within the Erasmus+ programme help KU Leuven achieve its wider policy goals of inclusive and accessible mobility, with the blended intensive programmes (BIP) action ensuring that new groups of students can be offered an international experience.
