Objectives

The institution’s Vision 2030 is founded on seven pillars that will shape its strategic direction over the next decade. Pillar 4 is of particular relevance in the context of this Erasmus+ project: “By 2030 we set the standard in Flanders as an international University of Applied Sciences.” In pursuit of this ambition, Thomas More has identified four strategic objectives with a strong focus on internationalisation. Firstly, the institution actively promotes opportunities for study and work abroad for both students and staff, while working to remove any barriers that may impede participation. Secondly, it broadens the scope of short-term mobility and internationalisation@home initiatives, ensuring both accessibility and high quality. Thirdly, recruitment, selection and admission procedures, together with support services and educational practices, are aligned with international best practice, guaranteeing inclusivity and excellence. Finally, Thomas More fosters international communities and partnerships, embedding global engagement within its institutional culture. By explicitly incorporating internationalisation into its vision, Thomas More underlines its commitment to strengthening its identity as an internationally oriented University of Applied Sciences, positioning itself as a valuable partner for institutions worldwide and as a role model for other Universities of Applied Sciences.
